Baller since 2017
Known as the “big guy” with an impressionable zest for life, Dante began high school measuring 6’3, 220lbs, with a size 15 shoe. His stoic presence, warm heartedness and insatiable smile was embraced by everyone he met. At the age of 14, not only was he a top performer in football, basketball, and track, he was an excellent student, class officer, and loved to help others within the community.
On May 30, 2013, at the end of his freshman year in high school, Dante was diagnosed with stage 4, T-Cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma. The 3-year treatment he received was aggressive and made it very difficult to feel his limbs, ultimately placing him in a wheelchair for a short time.
Without skipping a beat, he decided to get involved as a volunteer to help some of the young patients at the children’s hospital.
Despite some lingering side effects from his treatment, Dante completed his first year at SUNY Adirondack as the Vice President of the student senate and member of the Timberwolves basketball team. Dante’s family has a saying in their home, “Today is the first day of the rest of your life”, and he certainly exemplifies this.
