Baller since 2017
On February 26th of 2016, a month after experiencing severe headaches and illness, Cameron was told a mass was found on his brain. Cameron was 4 years old at diagnosis.
He had a shunt placed in the beginning of March, followed by a shunt revision later in March, and started his first of 6 rounds of chemo in March at the Melodies Center for Childhood Cancer at Albany Medical.
Despite the treatments, Cameron’s tumor was growing, and he was diagnosed with teratoma syndrome. The only solution at that time was to remove the tumor, so on June 14, a nine hour brain surgery was conducted.
Although Cameron’s doctor was certain he removed all of the tumor, Cameron was advised to start up chemotherapy again, as well as begin radiation. Cameron completed his treatments on October 19th, and is officially on the road to full recovery with continued checkups consisting of MRIs and spinal taps.
Cameron undoubtedly is an inspiration to many, and his love for music, family, and friends helped him through this incredibly challenging time.
Ballsfest Gift: John Deere Experience
Cameron very much loves anything John Deere. So, with this in mind, BALLSFEST coordinated the ultimate John Deere experience for Cameron on July 20th!
Thanks to the John Deere Foundation, and many, many thanks to Jim Romano and his team at Nortrax John Deere in Clifton Park, NY for hosting the most memorable day. Cameron learned to drive an excavator, a bulldozer, and front loader. He was showered with more John Deere swag than you can imagine, and was served a delicious lunch with all his favorite snacks. And though he was served ice cream too, the real icing on the cake was receiving his own motorized, camouflaged John Deere Gator to take home!
